Stalk Your Son Day

I am keeping pretty close tabs on Vince this morning, via the “find your iPhone” app. He walked out the door at 6:15, which is 25 minutes earlier than normal. He did this with a lot more excitement than usual, as today is Drive Your Tractor to School Day at Western Christian!

Here he is, when I first checked his location — those are our dairy cow barns on the left.

This makes me nervous for sure. Joe and I had told him “probably not” when he first asked because it was supposed to be yesterday, the weather forecast was crummy, and he had an orthodontic appointment. Then, when the date was changed and the weather cleared and the braces tightened, we said “see what Grandpa thinks”. All systems were a go! He fueled it and washed it yesterday afternoon (and took a bunch of photos because that is what young men do these days).

Experiences make life great so I am glad for this day and his excitement for it. I will be relieved to have him home safely — Lord willing. I guess they are parading around town a little before and after school and I warned him about the dangers of it. It’s all a mom can do. Well, besides stalk his location from his phone.
